Pasta carbonara is a classic Italian dish that delights with its simple yet rich flavor. It is traditionally made with spaghetti, eggs, grated cheese (usually Parmesan or Pecorino Romano) and pancetta or ham.

Steps

1.Cooking spaghetti

Boil spaghetti in salted water for 7-10 minutes and drain.

2.Flavoring oil with garlic

Fry the garlic in heated olive oil until golden brown.

3.Roasting ham or bacon

Finely chop the ham/bacon, add to the garlic and fry for 5 minutes.

4.Preparing the egg-cream mixture

Grate the Parmesan and mix the yolks with cream and lightly salt.

5.Mixing spaghetti with aromatic ingredients

Add the spaghetti to the garlic and ham/bacon and stir to combine.

6.Prepare sauce with cheese and yolks

Pour in the egg mixture, add grated Parmesan and cook for 3 minutes.

7.Final serve

Season with black pepper, garnish with herbs and serve.
