Tres leches cake is a decadent sponge cake soaked in three types of milk - regular whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk. The cake has a light and fluffy texture despite being saturated in the milk mixture. To make it, you'll first bake the sponge cake, then soak it in the milk mixture, and finally top it with whipped cream. The cake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 3 months.

Steps

Collect the necessary items.

Adjust the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it.

Cream the sugar and butter together in a large bowl using an electric mixer until the mixture is light and airy. Then, add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. Gradually add the flour mixture, about 1/2 cup at a time, mixing until it is well incorporated.
